What is the difference between the Vornado 610DC and 633DC circulating fans?
The 610DC has an external power supply and the 633DC has an internal power supply.

Page 7 of the 610DC User Guide, showing the 24V external power supply.
All other specs are almost identical. The 610DC is also made in the USA. Price can vary but 633DC is usually a bit cheaper.
Using the 610DC on solar/battery power
Given that the Vornado 610DC has an external 24V power supply, you can replace it with your own. This means if you’re off grid, or in a van or on a sailboat and have a solar setup with batteries, you can potentially power it without the double losses associated with converting the batteries’ DC to AC with an inverter and then re-converting it back DC to power the fan.
DC fans like these are already very efficient, but skipping the inverter makes them even more efficient. Just pick up a 24V DC-to-DC converter that works with your battery voltage, and it will sip power.
I also combed through dozens of Vornado products and user guides and found a list of additional models that have external power supplies:
I’m always interested in finding more mainstream devices and appliances that run directly off DC without internal AC-DC power supplies, it opens up a lot of possibilities.
